Carlton Mill Addition

This project involves the addition of two new townhouses on a CBD fringe urban site with a north-facing street frontage. The design approach aims to seamlessly blend the old and the new while maintaining respect for the existing buildings completed in the early 1970s. The new façade takes cues from the original units, but rather than replicating the gable repetition, a flat roof design was used with similar materiality to maintain aesthetic continuity.
