Nestled north of the tennis court, the Umpires Nest is a sculptural yet functional retreat inspired by the home’s curved timber slats. A central timber pile anchors a spiralling, cantilevered staircase, enclosed by vertical timber slats in a Nautilus-like form. Featuring an umpire’s desk, bar leaner, and water source, it blends craftsmanship with sustainability – 95% of the timber is salvaged. Seamlessly integrated into the rural-urban landscape, it enhances recreation while maintaining architectural integrity.
